Application Examples of Carbon Fiber Nylon 6

Some application examples of different filling content ranges of carbon fiber in nylon 6.

1. 1% – 5%
– Daily necessities: For example, combs, toothbrushes, etc. Adding a small amount of carbon fiber can improve the strength and wear resistance of the products, making them more durable.
– Ordinary packaging materials: They are used for packaging containers or films that have certain strength requirements, such as packaging boxes for electronic products and plastic packaging bags. Without significantly increasing the cost, it can enhance the tear resistance and compressive resistance of the packaging.

2. 5% – 10%
– Electronic and electrical components: Such as the casings or internal structural parts of electronic products like computers and mobile phones. Nylon 6 reinforced with carbon fiber in this content range has both certain strength and rigidity, and can maintain good electromagnetic shielding performance and dimensional stability, which helps protect electronic components and reduce electromagnetic interference.
– Furniture accessories: For instance, casters and handles of tables and chairs. It can enhance the wear resistance and load-bearing capacity of the accessories, extend their service life, and also achieve product lightweighting to a certain extent.Application Examples of Carbon Fiber Nylon 6

3. 10% – 20%
– Automotive interior parts: Such as instrument panels and door trim panels. It can improve the strength and heat resistance of the parts, making them less likely to deform during long-term use and providing better impact resistance in case of collisions.
– Sports equipment: Like badminton rackets and tennis rackets. It can significantly enhance the strength and rigidity of the rackets, enabling players to better transfer force when hitting the ball. Meanwhile, it can also reduce the weight of the rackets and improve their handling performance.

4. 20% – 30%
– Automotive parts around the engine: Such as engine covers and intake manifolds. Nylon 6 reinforced with carbon fiber in this content range has high heat resistance and mechanical strength, can withstand the high temperature and vibration generated when the engine is working, and also helps with the lightweighting of automobiles and improves fuel economy.
– Mechanical parts: Such as gears and pulleys. It can enhance the wear resistance, rigidity and dimensional stability of the parts, reduce wear and deformation, and improve the mechanical transmission efficiency and service life.

5. 30% – 60%
– Aerospace structural parts: For example, wing and fuselage structural parts of aircraft. Ultra-high strength and lightweight materials are required to meet the flight performance requirements. Nylon 6 reinforced with a high content of carbon fiber not only has excellent mechanical properties but also can effectively reduce the weight of the aircraft, improving fuel efficiency and flight range.
– High-end medical devices: Such as surgical instruments and artificial joints. There are strict requirements for the strength, wear resistance and biocompatibility of the materials. The nylon 6 composite material with a high carbon fiber content can meet these performance requirements. Meanwhile, certain electrical conductivity or thermal conductivity can be achieved by adjusting the formulation to meet special medical application scenarios.

Application Requirement Types of Carbon Fiber Nylon 6

Application Requirement Types Common Filling Content Ranges of Carbon Fiber Nylon 6 Corresponding Example Applications of Carbon Fiber Nylon 6
Moderate improvement in mechanical properties and wear resistance is needed 5% – 10% Small structural components of household appliances, simple mechanical fittings
Higher strength and stiffness are crucial 15% – 30% Lightweight parts of automobiles, components of high-performance sports equipment
Ultra-high strength, excellent thermal conductivity and other special properties are required Over 30%, up to about 50% Some extremely specialized application scenarios (such as precision parts in aerospace, heat dissipation structures of high-end electronic devices, etc., which need to withstand extreme conditions and have extremely high performance requirements)
Focus on cost control and relatively ordinary performance improvement needs 3% – 5% Ordinary daily plastic products, simple decorative plastic parts, etc., aiming to reduce costs while meeting basic usage functions
Emphasize on improving thermal properties for medium and high temperature environments 10% – 20% Protective parts close to heat sources in industrial equipment, parts of some heat-resistant electrical appliance shells, etc., ensuring the stability of material properties under certain heat conditions
Pursue good processing and forming convenience and a balance of comprehensive properties 8% – 12% Various plastic products formed by conventional injection molding and extrusion processes, taking into account certain strength, wear resistance and other properties while ensuring smooth processing
