What is PA6-LCF60?

PA6-LCF60 is a new type of material, a composite reinforced plastic. It is created by adding 60% long carbon fiber to nylon 6, also known as PA6. In PA6 LCF60, PA6 represents the base material, while LCF60 indicates the addition of 60% long carbon fiber.

Advantages of PA6-LCF60

High Strength
PA6-LCF60 boasts exceptional strength. PA6 has excellent strength and toughness, with a typical tensile strength ranging from 60 to 80 MPa. By adding 60% long carbon fiber, the strength and toughness of PA6 are significantly enhanced, resulting in a tensile strength typically between 150 and 200 MPa.

Lightweight
PA6 (Polyamide 6) performs excellently in terms of lightweight properties, primarily due to its low density and good mechanical performance. Compared to metal materials, the density of PA6 is approximately 1.13 g/cm³. The density of PA6 LCF60, due to the addition of 60% carbon fiber, typically ranges from 1.4 to 1.6 g/cm³, but its higher strength allows for less material usage to achieve the same effect, resulting in an overall lower weight.

High Impact Resistance
PA6-LCF60 has extremely high impact resistance. This high impact strength is attributed to the addition of 60% long carbon fiber. The impact strength of PA6 LCF60 generally falls between 100 and 150 kJ/m², which is significantly higher than that of regular PA6, whose impact strength typically ranges from 50 to 100 kJ/m².

High Wear Resistance
Although PA6 already has a very high wear resistance, with a wear rate of about 0.1-0.5 mm³/kWh, the addition of 60% long carbon fiber further reduces this value. The wear rate of PA6 LCF60 is generally below 0.1 mm³/kWh, with specific values typically between 0.05 and 0.08 mm³/kWh.

Practical Industries

Automotive Industry
The characteristics of PA6 LCF60 significantly exceed those of PA6. It can effectively replace PA6 in automotive components such as body parts, engine components, connectors, brackets, traditional system parts, cooling system components, and electrical components, achieving better performance.

Sports Industry
Due to the high strength and lightweight properties of PA6 LCF60, it can be effectively used in the sports industry. Applications include high-performance equipment, treadmills, fitness equipment, protective gear, and footwear. In these areas, the high strength of PA6 LCF60 ensures that the equipment is sturdy and durable, while its lightweight nature ensures that it is not overly heavy.

Daily Use
PA6 LCF60 can be effectively used in various everyday environments, including:

Furniture Components: Used for manufacturing connectors, brackets, and slides for furniture, providing stability and wear resistance to enhance the furniture’s lifespan.
Exercise Equipment: Such as home fitness equipment and yoga mat supports, leveraging its lightweight and high-strength characteristics to improve the performance and portability of the equipment.
Kitchenware: In knives, cutting boards, and cookware, PA6 LCF60 can enhance strength and wear resistance, improving the user experience.
Toys and Children’s Products: Used to manufacture high-strength toys and children’s furniture, ensuring safety and durability suitable for everyday use.
Personal Care Products: Such as razors and skincare tools, where PA6 LCF60’s excellent mechanical properties make these products lighter and more durable.
